WARGAME WITH DIE-CUT COUNTERS : PIZARRO 1532-1537 : CONQUEST FOR THE INCA EMPIRE
This game simulates the conquest of the Inca Empire by Francisco Pizarro and his brothers. It is part of the 'Gold and Steel' series (The Burgundian Wars, 1474-1477-VV 115, The War of the Benevolent 1465-VV 123, Cortes and the Conquest of Mexico 1519-1521-VV 137, The Britannic War of Independence 1487-1491, VV 160), which allows you to play the campaigns of the late 15th and early 16th centuries on a strategic and tactical scale.
It is both a strategic game with armies evolving on the map (divided into areas) representing the Inca Empire and a tactical game where the warriors clash on a tactical map showing a battlefield. The diplomacy table shows the evolution of the Indian peoples of the Inca Empire, whose alliances can range from unwavering support to doubtful allegiance to one side or a change of side, all of which can have consequences for the battle and influence the recruitment capabilities of allies.
Victory points are awarded by winning alliances, major battles (involving more than ten strength points on either side), sieges of fortresses and by controlling all nine zones designated as strategic objectives.
Throughout the game, the Spanish player receives a random number of reinforcements from the New World, which balances the forces against the Inca military might and its enormous manpower resources, and gives each side a chance to win.
Will you allow the Incas to keep their Empire in the face of the greed of the conquistadors, or will you succeed in this daring conquest?
